Gulfport Arts & Heritage is proud to announce that, on December 31, 2026, as part of our TimeWeaving series, we will bury a time capsule to be opened in 2050. And we are seeking contributions!
Interested in submitting an item? Think about your contribution to the 2050 time capsule as a message to the future. What do you want the people of 2050 to know about what Gulfport was like in 2026: What did our community or sound like? What was important to us? What are our hopes for the years to come?
Items eligible for inclusion include photographs, brochures, bulletins or newsletters, menus, rosters, stickers, newspaper clippings, drawings or other original artwork, sound recordings (what format?), thumb drives, mementos, and souvenirs. All items should fit the following criteria:
- Flat items should be 8.5″x11″ or smaller
- 3D items should be small, no Larter than 4″x4″x6″ (about the size of a standard mug)
- No perishable goods (food, live plants, etc.)
Or consider writing a letter or a postcard! In lieu of one of the items above, consider writing a letter or a postcard to express your ideas in your own original words.
